Other popular advertising campaigns on television offered to people who did sneak in to the four-star restaurants, and substituted the expensive coffee to customers who used to drink with Folgers crystals. Naturally, no one could ever say that the coffee had been replaced by expensive version cheaper immediately. In the 80s and 90s, Folgers began to experiment with less traditional advertising, sponsorship to compete with NASCAR. By sponsoring popular drivers, almost as if NASCAR itself endorsed the brand, and the ad campaign was quite successful. In 2006, more untraditional ad campaign was launched with the viral marketing. Created by ad agency Saatchi and Saatchi, the ad called mornings ® Ã ¬ happy were seen all over YouTube, and several weblogs. In the ads, Happy singers and dancers appear in the sunrise to wake people up to greet the day. The NBC of the date line conducted a taste test of most popular brands of coffee, and its Folgers roast of the classic experiment scored the last place.
